چکیده
The crack-propagation form may appear as an arbitrary mixed-mode fracture in engineering structure due to irregular internal crack. It is of great significance research the materials with cracks. coupling effect multiple variables (crack height ratio, horizontal deflection angle and vertical angle) on parameters such stress intensity factors T-stress are key points this paper. A three-point bending specimen inclined crack was proposed used conduct research. were obtained by finite element analysis, computed results showed that pure mode I fractures (mode I/II, I/III I/II/III) can be realized changing angles toughness sandstone a series experiments. experimental analyzed generalized maximum tangential strain energy density factor criterion considering T-stress. non-singular term cannot ignored any research, better predict than other criteria.

Mixed Mode Fracture Toughness of an Adhesive Bonded Joint
Adhesive joints are continuously emerging as candidate to replace traditional fastening systems, such as riveting or welding, in primary structural applications. A wide class of components belonging to electronic, automotive and aerospace industries contains adhesive joints, however, the reliability during service constitutes a major technical problem as these contain flaws. Therefore, their us...
متن کاملThe significance of crack-resistance curves to the mixed-mode fracture toughness of human cortical bone.
The majority of fracture mechanics studies on the toughness of bone have been performed under tensile loading. However, it has recently been shown that the toughness of human cortical bone in the transverse (breaking) orientation is actually much lower in shear (mode II) than in tension (mode I); a fact that is physiologically relevant as in vivo bone is invariably loaded multiaxially. Since bo...
متن کاملEffects of temperature and confining pressure on mode II fracture toughness of rocks (Case study: Lushan Sandstone)
The fracture mechanics examines the development and expansion of cracks in solids and how they affect the deformation of materials. The stress intensity factors at the tip of the crack and the critical stress intensity factors or fracture toughness of materials are considered in the relevant criteria. There are three main modes of applying forces to a crack including the tensile mode, shear mod...
متن کاملUsing Finite Element Software to Simulation Fracture Behavior of Three-point Bending Beam with Initial Crack
using computation software to simulate fracture behaviors of structures can shorten the time to estimate safety of engineering structures and reduce a lot of cost of experiment. However three dimensional numerical simulation for fracture process is a challenging issue, because the convergence and accuracy are not easily obtained and high computational cost is generated. In this paper, three new...
متن کاملRefinements to the Mixed-Mode Bending Test for Delamination Toughness
The mixed-mode bending (MMB) test for delamination toughness was first introduced in 1988. This simple test is a combination of the standard Mode I (opening) test and a Mode II (sliding) test. This MMB test has become widely used in the United States and around the world for mixed-mode toughness measurements. Because of the widespread use of this test method, it is being considered for standard...
